Videos, Podcasts, and TikTok Oh My!

Video and Podcast Journey (and TikTok love it or hate it?)

Wow! This week was fun, challenging, aggravating, and empowering all at the same time.

The week began by trying to find videos and podcasts to fit a lesson standard. Instructional videos were fairly easy to find while it was difficult to find videos with the quality and length for the grade I was searching.  Podcasts were much more challenging to fit into a curriculum standard.  I'm still not quite sure how to fit them in especially with time constraints already in place.
Classmate suggestion:  use podcasts as part of center rotations.

I also spent many hours trying to figure out how to use and post to TikTok.  I had seen it before and ultimately had deleted my account because of the time suck it created.  I created a new one specifically for the library and know that with the next generation of parents coming through the school it will be a better and faster way to communicate what is going on in the library as well as follow other librarians.  My first TikTok took almost 5 hours to make.  The sound was an issue and I tried to upload it so many times unsuccessfully.  I know that my next one won't take so long.  This was definitely a dreaded task but I am so happy I did it and got through.

My First TikTok about what we are reading in the library this week.
